DOGE has developed an AI technology to reduce federal rules

The Department of Government Efficiency has its sights set on an ambitious goal of halving the federal government's regulatory directives, as reported by The Washington Post.

Taking cues from a PowerPoint slide deck presented on July 1, The Post shares that the DOGE AI Deregulation Decision Tool is set to place approximately 200k federal regulations under scrutiny, sifting out the ones that have long since outlived their purpose. The aim? To hit the 50% reduction mark by the first anniversary of President Donald Trump's retaking of the office.

Glimpsing progress, the presentation indicates that the tool has already made its mark at the Department of Housing and Urban Development, having quite remarkably initiated all deregulations at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

A voice from the White House, while not confirming a "single plan", nevertheless lauds the DOGE team as the most capable and skillful of players in their field.

This latest progression marks another notch in DOGE's portfolio of AI tools, which were pioneered by DOGE and helmed initially during the Trump administration by the likes of Elon Musk. Their collection does include one allegedly error-encrusted tool which oddly overestimated the scale of Veterans Affairs contracts.
