Google Rolls Out Gemini AI-Powered “Add to Calendar” Feature for Workspace Users
Google Workspace Gets Smarter: Add Calendar Events Directly from Gmail with Gemini AI Exciting news for Google Workspace users—Google has rolled out a powerful new feature powered by its Gemini AI, making scheduling easier than ever. Starting this Monday, Workspace subscribers can seamlessly add events to their Google Calendar directly from within their emails.
How It Works
Gemini AI intelligently detects calendar-related details in your emails and presents an “Add to calendar” button. With just a click, a side panel in Gmail pops up to confirm that your event has been successfully added to your calendar—no manual entry required!
For now, this feature is only available in English and on the web, as detailed in Google’s latest blog post. However, there are some limitations:
- Events created via the “Add to calendar” button won’t include additional invitees.
- The feature won’t work for emails that already contain structured event details, such as flight bookings or restaurant reservations.
Who Can Access It?
This smart addition is available to Google Workspace Business and Enterprise users, as well as subscribers of Gemini Education, Gemini Education Premium, and Google One AI Premium. If you previously had Gemini Business or Gemini Enterprise (which are now discontinued), you’re still eligible.
Admins can enable this feature by turning on Smart Features and Personalization in the Google Workspace Admin console.

Gmail has been integrating Gemini AI’s capabilities for some time now. Back in June 2024, Google introduced AI-powered tools in Gmail to help users:
