Google tests using "AI Mode" in place of "I'm Feeling Lucky"

The virtual home of knowledge, Google's Search homepage, is being remodelled! Google is testing a feature called "AI Mode" that uses artificial intelligence to replace its famous "I'm Feeling Lucky" button. Google came up with this change in May as a way to improve search results.

The first ones on the block to witness this change were the expert tech reviewers at The Verge. Google corroborated their discovery, stating the new feature is being introduced to a select demographic under their experimental arm - Google Labs. However, it's too soon to declare if this modification will see the day of light for all users.

Interestingly, the announcement of this test has synchronized just a week before the Google I/O event. Everyone is simmering with anticipation for the event where Google may reveal some groundbreaking advancements in AI-driven search capabilities.

Google's Search homepage, a constant for users worldwide, experiences infrequent changes. However, the recent slide in Google Searches via the Safari browser, reported for the first time by an Apple executive, may push Google to revamp its face. Apparently, the magic wand behind the decline is the surfacing of AI components like ChatGPT.
