Keanu Al Azhari, a young UAE motorsport driver, has eyes Formula One
Up-and-coming talent, Keanu Al Azhari, is creating himself in the motorsport industry, with an insatiable hunger for racing, is moving up the ranks at the Alpine Academy. With a view of the Formula One Grand Prix in sight, he appreciates the role his training at Dubai Autodrome has played thus far.
Keanu, a 17-year-old from Dubai, was recently offered the amazing opportunity to join the exclusive Alpine Academy of Formula One. This year, he'll also be burning rubber for Hitech GP in the GB3 Championship after completing two successful seasons at Formula 4.
This advancement is not just another notch in his belt but a cornerstone of his career. Born into a family with a legacy in racing, he excitedly embarks on this fresh leg of his motorsport journey, nurturing the hope of landing a coveted spot in the top motorsport league- the F1.
"I see being a part of the Alpine team as a significant milestone in my life and it reflects all the sweat and grind I've put into this craft," he narrated. "I feel enormous pride to be a part of the Alpine family where they undoubtedly will mould me during the early stages of my single-seater career. With their guidance, I am optimistic that I will fulfill my ultimate career goal- joining F1. This journey is bound to be challenging, but I am ready to demonstrate what I'm made of."
If you wonder about his impressive stride in the world of motorsport till now, last year, our young prodigy bagged four victories, nine podium finishes, and five best starting positions, securing the second position in the Formula 4 Spanish Championship. His commitment and talent also shone in the Formula 4 UAE Championship, where he triumphed twice, bagged third place overall and made headlines with numerous podium finishes and best starts.
At Dubai Kartdrome, Keanu tried his hand at karting before putting his skills behind a race wheel. In spite of intense competition, he competed in the DAKA program's coveted IAME Series UAE.
Looking back, Keanu cherishes his racing lineage, having followed in his father Karim's tracks. He feels endearing gratitude towards Dubai Autodrome for their unwavering support.
"Kartdrome and Dubai Autodrome constitute vital parts of my life. I remember accompanying my father Karim Al Azhari during his local races as early as three years old. These grounds witnessed my transition from karting to racing and the achievement of my racing license," Keanu fondly remembered.
"As a testament to the variety the Autodrome offers, I have honed my skills racing on countless different layouts. Their support has been instrumental in molding me into the racer I am today, before propelling me into the Formula 4 European Series races."
