SpaceX, owned by Elon Musk, could give $2 billion to Musk's xAI

Elon Musk could be shifting some dollars between his innovative ventures.

An insider scoop from The Wall Street Journal reveals that SpaceX is committing a hefty sum of $2 billion into Musk's burgeoning AI initiative, xAI. This cash infusion forms part of the colossal equities rake of $5 billion (supplemented by an equal amount of debt) orchestrated by Morgan Stanley as June drew to a close.

This marks a first for SpaceX pouring funds into xAI, and it stands as one of the space firm's most significant inter-corporate ventures. Word on the street from WSJ is that SpaceX's Starlink internet service already employs xAI's Grok chatbot for their customer relations, with additional collaborations on the horizon.

True to his visionary style, Musk has never been one to hold back when it comes to leveraging the strength of his multiple enterprises for mutual benefit. A case in point is the merger of xAI with X (the entity formerly known as Twitter) earlier this year Techcrunch. Despite the controversial hiccup where Grok chatbot roused certain sensitive issues, culminating in a public apology from xAI, the avant-garde Tesla is anticipating incorporating Grok within their vehicle interfaces.
